If you have not looked at your 401k lately, you are one of the few breed of people who are as hard as stone….Or just plain unaware.
It seems that while I was busy enjoying my long earned downtime, the stock market decided fall below 8000 points. That normally doesn’t mean much to anyone other than stockbrokers. It meant nothing to me until I got my monthly 401k statement. It was nothing to smile about.
From my so called blue chips to my “throw the dice” stock picks, it seems that nothing is working out as it should. As they say in some African culture, “things are Elephant!”
I guess we should be bracing for some serious financial repositioning next year. I am trying to figure out what I should start cutting down on. However, getting rid of my 401k is not one of the solutions. I will continue setting aside funds for my 401k in the hope that sooner or later, the stocks will come back to life.
