When I was a kid, you could never get me to read a book. Why bother reading books when my dad would be reading the same boring story before I went to bed.
Of course we all know that the only reason that our teachers used to give us reading text was because they hated us. I remember you could never get me to go near a book unless it was by Stephen King. Now that I am older, how I do regret such behaviour.
Ok, I am not a member of the Oprah book club, but I have started getting the reading bug at my ripe old/young age. Do not be surprised if you find me scouring the web for Amazon books. It is true that the older you get, the more you should read.
I find that reading keeps me grounded. Instead of trying to imagine solutions to my problems, I am now busy reading other people’s solutions to the same problems and getting a better handle on the issues.
For my kids who read this blog; yes, Daddy regrets not reading books at your age.
