I don’t wish to be mean but last week I was introduced to probably the worst online business idea that I have ever heard of.
A friend of mine worked very hard for some 6 months to set up a great looking website. It has all the bells and whistles that you can think of. In fact, trying to compare his site to this one would be totally unfair. It would be trying to compare outdoor lights to a night of darkness.
He told me that he had spent over 3k dollars to set up the site and the usual long nights trying to figure out the problems and issues with the site.
There was one problem however. His idea was to set up another social network that would compete with facebook. I would first like to say that I am not a member of facebook and never plan to be. But another facebook clone is all I can take in my lifetime.
Why can’t online business people think outside the box? Instead of saying its another facebook, why not say its a social site for farmers in Ohio or something. After all, remember that facebook pretended that they were a Myspace for college students only.
