For those who say that global warming is non-existent, I think there is a need to go back to school. If its not floods in China and Pakistan, it is now Glaciers breaking in Greenland.
Apparently, an ice island four times the size of Manhattan has broken off from one of Greenland’s two main glaciers in the biggest such event in the Arctic in nearly 50 years.
The new ice island, which broke off on Thursday, will enter a remote place called the Nares Strait, about 620 miles south of the North Pole between Greenland and Canada.
The ice island has an area of 100 square miles and a thickness of up to half the height of the Empire State Building, said Andreas Muenchow, professor of ocean science and engineering at the University of Delaware.
It is about time that we took the issue of global warming seriously. Between the floods in Pakistan and China and the Glaciers in Greenland, it is obvious that something needs to be done soon. One does not need a set of binocular to see what is going on. The problem is that it may be a bit late in the day to blame anyone for global warming. We just have to do something about it now before it is too long.
