It seems the malicious coders are now out in force on the net. For those who do not know what is happening, there has been a wave of attacks on various websites online and it seems its only getting worse.

I have personally had a harrowing experience with some of my sites becoming seriously infected with malicious code. Two of them were even tagged with the google red screen warning people not to visit.

I tried everything I could to fix it and now I am much wiser. Its much like when you buy your first horse tack, you know nothing. However, after some painful use, you learn how to buy better horse tacks.

I have had to remove some of my sites online because of this. However, now all my sites undergo the following.

  1. I set up the site offline first before setting them up on the site
  2. Use a different database prefix than the default wordpress database prefix
  3. Manually check for any encoding on the templates. if I find any, I never use the theme however beautiful

And of course other things that I can never mention online.
