Litigating Everyone
The days when a doctor would come to your house and take care of your sick child and then part ways with people loving him are up. In this day of age of everyone suing each other and children suing their own parents for giving birth to them, the good doctor is not safe. We are now in the age where the doctor has got to stop thinking about the patient but instead think of offshore asset protection .
Think of it, we now have to protect ourselves from the IRS, litigants, collection agencies etc who all have the view that my hard earned assets belong to all of us. That is not how I think of wealth preservation . I need to know that my assets including and not limited to cash, securities and property are going to be safe from the prying hands of people who are too lazy to work for themselves.
For those with high net worth, it is essential to get a good lawyer who would be able to move your property to any tax haven around the world if the need arose. If you think you are immune from stupid lawsuits then think about the new litigation method. Someone would sue someone else who might be related to you just because the one party has more money than the person who actually caused the problem.
We are becoming too sue happy for any of us not to take advantage of a good lawyer when protecting your assets.
