For those who have been on this blog before, you know that I always travel to Kenya at least once in 3 months.
Why? Its warmer than Boston and the people there are lovely. I also have a few development projects that I follow up especially in the Kibera slums.
Kenya is still developing so I wouldn’t expect much in terms of infrastructure. However, the past 6 months have been something to behold. Kenya happens to be the only country I know in the world where there is serious rationing of water, electricity and now the internet.
Granted there was a drought before. However, can anyone explain to me why a water authority can be rationing water when there are floods all over the country? Isn’t that tempting the Gods?
Met a few Plano dentist there and they had the same questions. Now the thing that gets me most mad is the issue of internet connection in Kenya. There is now fibre cabling in the country. However, isp’s have decided to keep the costs very high. At about $200 a month for 256kbps….yes I said $200.
Only in Kenya!
