You aren’t going to make it online without a name.

We all know that you can get a cheaper book at some home store than Amazon.com. However, we can never seem to will ourselves to walk to the local store to buy the cheaper book. Why?

I am one of the few who believes that the only reason for this is that we love shopping in branded stores. In other words, names sell more than products. I think that when the net came about, creating your own name was easier than it is now. You can imagine the number of mom and pop outfits that now have a website and all trying to compete against you.

I guess if you were to try and compete for Outer Banks rentals, you will find no success either. Unless you work harder than you ever have and try to get as many hits and backlinks to your site as possible.

For me, with a family to take care of a business to run, it is getting harder and more frustrating just to create that brand name that I crave. In that case, I have decided to give my kid a few tasks online. I figure that instead of him taking all his time on facebook, he might as well help me market some of my products online.
