My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised because this was not the old school boring jazz concert that we had in mind. The music was just amazing. The pace ranged from slow to a pretty up beat tempo that’s more to our liking. I could not help but wonder what kind of  piano the band was using because it just sounded like music from heaven. I guess the pianist had some skills going on.

We got to interact with the band later on and take a look at the williams allegro 88-key digital piano that was being used that evening. Its probably one of the finest instruments I have seen in a long time.

I’m glad I can get to enjoy the music because we got a signed copy of the CD as treat for going to the concert. I’m now officially a jazz lover.

When you need to buy a pair of shoes for someone, your choice will depend on how well you know them. If you know someone well, then its easy to tell what they like and probably need. Check out the kind of shoes they wear and either buy something similar or something you notice they do not have.

If on the other hand, you really do not know the tastes of the lady in question, I always find it easier to buy womens sandals. Sandals are versatile and its much easier to get the size right as opposed to formal or closed shoes and boots.

The best part about sandals is they are easy to wear, they work  for different seasons and occasions and they are available in many different colors and styles. Any mall will probably have a good number of shops stocking different types of sandals, making your work easy and fun.

I guess my friends know how much I struggle with the cold and got me a beautiful and warm set of bedding from Sferra. If you know anything about this shop, then I’m sure you know they sell high quality stuff. I’ve actually been saving all year long to redo my bedroom and of course get something warm for those dreary and snowy nights.

The gift came with a cute little card with the following message: “Keep Warm and Enjoy the Season!” I’ll be smiling this holiday season in my warm and cozy bed!

There are a lot of beauty sceneries  but the problem was that I had always watched them on the television. I felt challenged that tourists were flying from abroad and having to experience the Kenyan beauty before I had a chance for experience this beauty first hand. No wonder they say that the guy who discovered the Nyahururu water falls in Kenya is Thomson- a white man. And we reward him by naming the falls after him long after he is dead.

It was as a result of this challenge that I set my mind to visit Lake Baringo. It would not be fun to go alone and so I talked with some friends who liked my idea and we set the date on a Saturday. It is a long journey from Nairobi and realizing that we could not make it on one day and back, we decided to travel  day before of the planned visit, spend the night in the vicinity of the lake and visit the lake the following day.

The morning sun rose earlier than usual and we were up. As we dressed I noticed that I had packed a pair of womens sandals. The excitement had built up inside my chest and all I wanted was to see the lake. On arrival there we were received by a group of tour guides who had different packages for boat riding to the various islands in the lake. The weirdest name I heard that day is the way the call one of the islands there, “the devil’s island”. We wanted to know where the name was derived from and were told of myths and stories of what goes on around that island and for sure, the things I heard are devilish.

It was a day like no other and we went home tired but much fulfilled. Local tourism now is the in thing for me and I plan on doing some more later this year.

As I get older, the fear of days passing me by is just too high. I seriously need to slow down this pace otherwise I will soon ask myself, “where were you when you were 40?”

Today, I’m fixing the outdoor décor a fresh. The other day, I was busy fixing up the house roof.The day before that, I was busy building my kids a new tree house. The week before that, I was busy telling my wife I love you. That was some 3 years ago.

What really happened to my life. I love Fridays don’t get me wrong, but the older I get, it seems I am starting to dread the sure sign that I am getting older. My tummy isn’t helping me either. No, jogging doesn’t help, just gives me stomach upsets. Dieting doesn’t help, just makes me hungry.

But, its friday and my daughter is coming home from school. No it isn’t just another Friday. It is the best Friday of my life.

Everyday is another story of some old childhood celebrity who had a bad day. Heck, these guys don’t even do things like normal people. None of them passes away in their bed like us mere mortals. It is some funny games that they are playing or another.

Another NBA star carries a gun in his locker. Who cares really? Let them do that. As long as they come nowhere near my home or near my locker. Is it really that important to be told that a former superstar is now a junkie? Even my neighbour is one and I don’t seem to be worried about it. Who cares if they take fat burners?

Its time to get a life now.

She was tiny and all innocent. That is until last week when she all of a sudden started using eye creams . Can you believe that? A ten year old with eye creams since she’s not beautiful enough.

There was a time when I was a kid and all I cared about was riding my bike until I was muddy. Not now. These days, these kids had rather stay at home watching some TV program and use facebook. How can we as parents expect them to be dirty?

I am eagerly awaiting the day someone will come up with a device to totally avoid adverts and sexy programs on TV. Let’s have some more Tom and Jerry cartoons instead of the current crap we have on TV.

Kids are meant to be dirty and not beautiful.

When my wife was laid off some time back, we had to figure out a way to replace the income she lost. Some time back, all one had to do was apply for a job and due to one’s experience, you were likely to get one quickly.

Not anymore. It seems that the only way to stay relevant in the current job market is to continuously improve on your education. If you have a family, and other commitments, it becomes rather difficult to find the time to go for the traditional college setting.

That is until we found out about Western Governors Online University.

At this time I am listening to one of those free your mind MP3’s that are supposed to make me a millionaire in 2 days. I listen but its good for me to know when such a story can end up being total hype.

Hype can cause problems in your life. After all, all you are doing is believing in things that may not be true. Its like believing that the newest weight loss program will work even if you eat doritos for breakfast.

However, I picked up one thing, everyone is here for a purpose. The problem is trying to figure out what the purpose it. You will succeed when you know your purpose and follow it to the very end.

There are about 5 families who are my neighbours and all of them have close family members who have been affected by this earthquake in Haiti.

After the tsunami I seriously never thought that so many people can die in such a short time. Every time I hear the updated numbers from Port Au Prince, I shiver with fear. What may be happening to the earth?

It shock me up so much that I postponed my murad reviews. However there are times such as these when one has to to keep business in the back burner.
